Easy Chocolate & Hazelnut Spread

by Micaela Harrasser

Today I am sharing this homemade, super delicious hazelnut chocolate spread – also known as Nutella! Check out this super easy and quick method! All you need is a powerful food processor to powder the toasted hazelnuts and the magic is done!

As you can see the texture of mine is still a bit grainy – if you prefer a creamy consistency, you have to keep chopping the nuts until you get a very fine powder before adding the other ingredients. This rich and tasty version is not as sweet as Nutella. You can definitely adjust the amounts of sugar (and cocoa powder) to your taste! Finally, it’s important to use a cocoa powder that is dark and without sugar – if you cannot find it, first just add the cocoa powder without sugar, mix it and taste it as it might not need sugar at all!

It can keep for up to 10 days in the fridge and you can use it as spread, add it to cakes and so on! If you like it, next time you can swap hazelnuts with another nut, like almonds or pistachios! Enjoy!
